2 Golfers Compete is State Championships
Carmel, CA - Two SCC Men’s Golf team members, Jacob Corbin and Austin Amaya, competed in the State tournament at Rancho Canada G.C. in Carmel on Monday May 13th. Austin, a freshman from El Dorado H.S., shot even par 71 in the morning and 78 in the afternoon to shoot a 149 for the day and finish tied for 20th. He had 9 birdies for the day. Jacob Corbin, a sophomore from El Dorado, shot 1 under par 70 in the morning and 73 in the afternoon to finish at 143. Jacob had 8 birdies and an eagle for the day. Jacob’s 143 earned him 6th place in the competition and all state honors. He is the 3rd golfer in SCC history to earn all state. |

Men's Golf Finish 5th at Regionals
Costa Mesa, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team was in 2nd place after the first round by shooting 10 over par 370 as a team. However, the Hawks slipped back to 5th as they struggled in the afternoon round. Sophomore Jacob Corbin (El Dorado HS) and freshman Austin Amaya (El Dorado HS) advance individually to the State Championship. Jacob shot 72-73 to finish 6th overall individually and captured a medal. Austin shot 71-75 and finished tied for 8th. Nico Mendoza 75-79, Colin Ervine 77-78, Matt Lines 78-80 and Brant DeBoer 75-84 completed the team scoring. |

Hawks Finish Conference in 2nd Place
Chino, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team went 12-2 in conference finals to finish 2nd overall in the conference and advance to Regionals at Costa Mesa GC next Monday. The Hawks were led by Jacob Corbin 72-72 144, Nico Mendoza 72-73, Colin Ervine 74-73 147, Austin Amaya 72-76 148, Cory Chavez 74-77 151 and Matt Lines 78-84 162. |

Hawks Slide to 2nd Place
Mission Viejo, CA - SCC Men’s Golf shot a season high of 410 at Tijeras Creek GC on Monday and slid into 2nd place behind OCC. It was a long day for the Hawks as they had only one player break 80and failed to pick up a win. Austin Amaya led the way with 77 with two birdies. Colin Ervine 81, Jacob Corbin 84, Nico Mendoza 84, Brant DeBoer 84 and Cory Chavez 87 rounded out the scoring. |

Hawks Move into First Place
Chino, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team shot 377 as a team to go 6-1 on the day and 32-10 in conference. This match moves the Hawks into first place with two matches left. The Hawks hosted at El Prado and the wind made it difficult playing conditions. Nico Mendoza led the way with a (1) under par 71 – Nico had (3) birdies and (2) bogeys. Jacob Corbin had a solid 73, Cory Chavez 76, Brant DeBoer 77, Maztt Lines 80 and Austin Amaya 82. |

5th Conference Match Drops SCC to 2nd
Riverside, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team shot 388 at Victoria CC Monday April 1st. The Hawks picked up three wins and four loses in the 5th conference match of the season. That put the Hawks in 2nd place 26-9 record, two games behind OCC. Leading the way for SCC was Austin Amaya 75, Cory Chavez 76, Colin Ervine 77, Jacob Corbin 80, Nico Mendoza 80 and Matt Lines 81. |

Hawks a Perfect 7-0 on the Day
San Marcos, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team shot a season team low of 367 at Twin Oaks Monday, in their fourth conference match of the season. The Hawks went 7-0 for the day and improved their conference record to 23-5. SCC is in first place two games ahead of OCC halfway through the conference season. Leading the way for the Hawks were Austin Amaya 71(5 birdies), Matt Lines 71 (eagle 2 hole out from 100 yards), Cory Chavez 74, Colin Ervine 75, Nico Mendoza 76 and Jacob Corbin 76. |

Hawks Remain on Top
Santa Ana, CA - SCC Men’s Golf team shot 374 and went 6-1 at the third conference tournament at Santa Ana CC on Wednesday. The Hawks are now 16-5 and tied for first in the Orange Empire Conference. Leading the way was freshman, Austin Amaya, who shot even par 72. Austin had four birdies in his round. Nico Mendoza 73, Jacob Corbin 74(4 Birdies), Matt Lines 77, Cory Chavez 78 and Colin Ervine 79 rounded out the scoring. All six players shot in the 70’s which was a first in conference play for the team. |

Hawks Win Non-Conference Match
Tustin, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team defeated Citrus College 375 -405 on Wednesday in a non-conference match at Tustin ranch golf course. The Hawks were led by Austin Amaya who shot one under par 71 with four birdies. Jacob Corbin 74, Nico Mendoza 75, Matt Lines 75, Brant DeBoer 80 and Cory Chavez 81 rounded out the scoring. |

Men's Golf Tied for First Place
El Cajon, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team picked up six wins and only one loss in Monday's OEC match at Sycuan Golf Course. This result boosts the Hawks to a record of 10-4 and tied for first place after two conference matches. The Hawks shot a team score of 380 and were lead by Austin Amaya 73, Nico Mendoza 74, Cory Chavez 76, Jacob Corbin 77, Matt Lines 80 and Colin Ervine 87. |

Nico Mendoza Earns Medalist Honors
Cypress, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf Team opened conference play by going 4- 3 in a match hosted by Cypress at the Navy Course. SCC shot a team score of 378 to pick up the 4 wins. Nico Mendoza shot a season best 3 under par 69 to lead the team. Nico’s 69 was good enough for medalist honors for the 48 player tournament. Nico had 2 birdies and an eagle (a hole out from 107 yards out) and 1 bogey for the day. Cory Chavez 75, Austin Amaya 76 ,Jacob Corbin 76, Brant DeBoer 82, and Matt Lines 83 rounded out the scoring. |

Men's Golf Finish 3rd
Victorville, CA - Santiago Canyon Men’s golf team finished tied for third in the 13 team tournament at Spring Valley Lake golf course on Monday February 11th. The format for the tournament was two man best ball. Each school had three two man teams and added up the three scores to get a team score. The Hawks shot three under par 213 with Austin Amaya/Nico Mendoza 69 leading the way. Jacob Corbin/Cory Chavez 70 and Matt Lines/Colin Ervine 74 rounded out the scoring. |

Hawks Finish 2nd at Tee Off Classic
Chino, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team finished a strong 2nd in the 16 team Tee Off Classic held at Los Serranos GOlf Course on February 4th and 6th. The Hawks finished a close 2nd to Orange Coast, as they shot 742 to Orange Coast's 741. The Hawks had three players finish individually in the top five. Nico Mendoza and Austin Amaya both shot 76-71 (147) to finished tied for third individually. Cory Chavez finished tied for 5th with a 72-76 148. |

Men’s Golf Finishes tied for seventh at Riverside Invitational Riverside, CA - The SCC Men’s Golf team finished tied for 7th at the Riverside Invitational 13 team tournament held at Victoria Country Club on Monday January 28th. Freshman Cory Chavez led the team with a 7 over par 79. Matt Lines and Austin Amaya, both freshman from El Dorado H.S., finished with shooting 80. Nico Mendoza and Colin Ervine had 81’s and Jacob Corbin had an 82. Next up for SCC will be the tee off classic Monday February 4th at Los Serranos. |
