Wade Fraser
Head Coach

Coach Wade Fraser has been coaching at Santiago Canyon College since 2007.  Along with coaching at SCC, Coach Fraser is also the head  varsity coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. He was also a member of the Pateadores Soccer Club coaching staff from 2002-2012.

Coach Fraser attended El Toro High School  (1994-1997). His play at El Toro helped him earn an athletic scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX (1997-2000) where he earned three conference championships and was a member of the 2000 final four team. After graduating from SMU Coach Fraser played in the A-League for the league champion Milwaukee Rampage.

He graduated from SMU with a degree in psychology and in August of 2010 graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Master's of Science. Coach Fraser also works as a strength and conditioning coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

Coach Fraser currently lives in Foothill Ranch with his wife Jennie and two sons Bram and Gavin.

Shawn Watts
Assistant Coach

Shawn Watts returns to SCC after a 1 year absence. Shawn was an assistant coach in 2012 and 2013 for coach Fraser and the Hawks. Coach Watts has been coaching at the club, high school and collegiate level now for 13 years. Coach Watts is also the El Toro High School boys varsity head coach and took his team this past season to the CIF division 1 championship and won a league championship for the second year in a row. 

As a player coach Watts has gone through the youth system from the ODP state team, to the regional team and even the youth national teams. At Irvine Valley College, coach Watts won a state championship and were ranked #1 in the nation in 2003. Shawn went on to pursue his playing career and was a member of the LA Galaxy, Chivas USA and Colorado Rapids reserve teams. Shawn is a very familiar face in the soccer world having coached top teams both boys and girls with clubs such as OC Premier formerly known as OJSC, Canyon FC, the Pateadores, and now with his most recent club Strikers FC. Shawn holds a USSF National "B" license. 

Shawn recently married his wife Ashley in August of 2013.  They are expecting their first child in February of 2013

Alex Pozo
Assistant Coach

Alex Pozo is in his second year as volunteer assistant coach of the Santiago Canyon Men’s soccer program.

A native of Guayaquil, Ecuador, Coach Alex Pozo holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Catolica University. His experiences as team captain of the Cristobal Colon Alumni Soccer Team developed both his coaching ability and knowledge and understanding of the game. In addition, he has coached numerous soccer teams in the Southern California region for the past 5 years. His goals are to teach soccer players the components of the game, to encourage valuable skills as team players with positive attitudes and to develop decision making that will enrich their lives. His philosophy is to develop the technique of the players through practice sessions provided in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment. 

Coach Alex has been coaching at Beckman High School since 2012 and he is also member of the Pateadores coaching staff since 2015.

 He holds a USSF National Coaching C License and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.


Ross Langford
Assistant Coach

Ross is in his second season as a member of the Santiago Canyon College men's soccer coaching staff.

Originally from Bradford in England via Spain, he has lived in the USA and in Southern California since June 2010. He holds four coaching licenses from the English FA. He played in high school and represented his county. He currently coaches four teams at Chelsea in Yorba Linda and brings the same philosophies to SCC that he does in his club soccer coaching. .

He holds a USSF National Coaching C License.
