Men's Soccer Coaching Staff 

 

Wade Fraser
Head Coach

Wade Fraser is entering his third season as Head Coach for the Santiago Canyon College Men’s soccer team.  Fraser graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  During his years as a student-athlete at Southern Methodist University, he played for Coach Schellas Hyndman, who is currently the head coach for MLS’ FC Dallas.  Fraser was a four year starter at Southern Methodist, and was a member of the first team in school history to make the Division I NCAA tournament Final Four in 2000.  After completing his collegiate career, Fraser played one season in the professional ranks with the Milwaukee Rampage of the A-League (now known as the USL) where he went on to capture an A-League championship.

Fraser began his coaching career in 2002 with the Pateadores Soccer Club, one of the top youth soccer clubs in the nation and member of the United Stated Club Soccer Academy.  This year the Pateadores will call upon Fraser to serve as the head coach for the U-17 and U-18 teams, as well as coordinator for U-15 through U-18 age levels.  In addition to coaching at the collegiate and club levels, Fraser recently began coaching at the high school level when he was named head coach of the boys’ varsity soccer team at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 2008.

Wade and his wife Jennifer, a Southern Methodist alumna of 2001, reside in Foothill Ranch, California with their son Bram (4).

Doug Franco
Assistant Coach

This will be Doug Franco’s first season coaching at Santiago Canyon College.  Doug graduated from the University of California Irvine with a degree in Sociology.  Doug was a four year starter at UCI receiving All Big West Conference honors in 2005 and 2006.  Previous to UCI Doug was a four year varsity player at El Toro High School, captain of the national championship Irvine Strikers club team, and a member of the U.S. Youth National Team pool.  Doug also attended the California State University Fullerton where he earned his single subject teaching credential in Social Science.

Doug is currently the head coach of the boys’ soccer program at El Toro High School where he was the assistant coach for six seasons before being promoted in 2010.  During his time at El Toro Doug helped lead the team to three league championships in 2007, 2009, and 2010 and a C.I.F. championship in 2009.


Steve Carey
Assistant Coach

Coach Steve Carey continues in his 2nd year as assistant coach with the Santiago Canyon College Hawks Men's Soccer. Growing up here in Southern California, Steve played soccer for the majority of his youth at San Clemente Soccer Club, attended San Clemente High School and Irvine Valley College. Steve currently holds a USSF D National Coaching License and a NSCAA Level VI License. Outside of Santiago Canyon College, Steve coaches at Santa Margarita Catholic High School as the Assistant Varsity Coach for the boys soccer program, where he has been at since 2007. Steve is also currently the Director of Boys Coaching for Capistrano Football Club in San Juan Capistrano.

Tomislav Antunovich
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Tomislav Antunovich is entering his first season as an Assistant Coach with the Santiago Canyon College Hawks Men’s soccer team. Antunovich grew up playing locally in Southern California. After completing high school, Antunovich was called on a trial in Gelsenkirchen, Germany with 3. Bundesliga club Schalke 04 II, where he ended up spending 4 months. After his time in Germany, Antunovich moved to NK Konavle of the Croatian 2nd Division where he spent the second half of the 2005-2006 season.

Antunovich returned to the United States in 2006 and graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During his years as a student-athlete at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, he played under U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame member Paul Caliguiri.

Antunovich began his coaching career in 2010 with the OC Revolution soccer club, one of the fastest-growing soccer clubs in Southern California.

Antunovich currently resides in Anaheim, CA.
