CTE Designated Subjects Preliminary Teaching Credential

• 3 years experience in the industry
• H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic reading, writing and mathematics skills
• Pass the CBEST-California Basic Educational Skills Test
• Recommendation by a Commission-approved CTE program sponsor, such as:
  CSU San Bernardino, UC Riverside, UC Berkeley, Fresno Pacific University, National University, various County offices of Education
• Credential valid for 3 years

CTE Designated Subjects Teaching Credential Employment Opportunities:

• Business and/or Economics Teacher
• Middle School, High School, Adult Education, Regional Occupation Program

Community College Instructor Employment Requirements

• Associate Degree, plus 6 years work experience OR
• Bachelor's Degree, plus 2 years work experience OR
• Master's Degree
