The Career Education Division becomes Business & Career Technical Education Division!
As of July 1, 2010 the Business Department (Accounting, Business, Marketing, Management, Computer Information and Programming courses) joins our career education division sparking a name change. At SCC you'll find programs unique to Orange County and even Southern California. We are proud of our faculty of dedicated, experienced and accomplished professionals. Water Conservation Demonstration Garden - The Orange County Coastkeeper garden -- a native plant display, water conservation site and "water wise" demonstration garden for local homeowners -- is being installed on the SCC campus through several grants with the original funding from The Metropolitan Water District. CACEO Code Enforcement Academy - CACEO (California Association of Code Enforcement Officers) sponsored classes are offered in Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Code Enforcement and a course for Supervisors.

Technical Advisory Committee Meetings - Our annual Master TAC (Technical Advisory Committee) was held on Friday, April 23, 2010. Water Industry Educational Extravaganza- Sponsored by the AWWA (American Water Works Association), "Ed Ex" is held at SCC every August. Join us on August 18, 2010, for water industry "contact hours" seminars on current and emerging topics. Until then, keep up-to-date with our "Hot Topics" listed on the Water Utility Science web site. If you are interested in a future career in the water utilities, attending this event is a great way to get started.
Trig-Star - Saturday, March 20, 2010, SCC Surveying & Mapping Program and the CLSA (California Land Surveyors Association) sponsored our annual Trigonometry competition for approximately 200 high school and community college students. Students and their parents, teachers and friends participate in surveying career exploration activities, enjoy lunch, visit surveying and civil engineering exhibitors and tour the campus.
