Faculty and Guest Speakers:
Barry McCarthy, instructor for the introductory course Principles of Project Management, has been managing projects during his career in the areas of marketing, customer service, and field service operations management. He has been involved with projects of all types and sizes and excels at the project proposals. Mr. McCarthy has teaching and training experience in all facets of business, has served as a training resource to his faculty colleagues, and has been a program design consultant to several colleges. Mr. McCarthy is a member of PMI and holds a BS degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland.
Darren Smith has worked in the information technology field for over 25 years. He was the Regional Technical Director for Kyocera America for 13 years, and has worked for the County of Orange for 9 years. He currently works for the County of Orange Department of Waste & Recycling as the Information Systems Manager. In that capacity he manages all of OCWR information staff that develops web pages, maintains landfill automation operations, and Wide Area Network support. Prior to that, he worked for the County Executive Office Information Technology group, outsourced to Child Support Services as the Information Systems Manager. During his tenure with Child Support, they successfully migrated 800 users to a new case management system, and updated business practices and department policies. Darren is a County Certified Project Manager.

Mike Graupner is a PMP (Certified Project Management Professional), member of PMI and in charge of their educational program. He is an experienced trainer as well as project manager with extensive experience in a multitude of project types in industry.
Tom Cumming is a PMP and a Board Member for PMI. A project manager, an with extensive experience in a variety of industries, both private and public sector, he has been training project managers for a number of years including IT (Information Technology.)
