||Geology/Earth science is the study of the Earth as a planet and the processes that have formed and shaped it throughout time.
Earth science classes are interdisciplinary and will explore some combination of the basic sciences of geology, oceanography, meteorology and astronomy. Our department also offers specific classes in geology and oceanography. Most classes are designed for general interest and are appropriate for students of any major. The lecture and lab classes can also be used to complete the general education physical science requirements for either an associates degree or transfer. SCC students interested in geology as a major can also complete the geology requirements necessary to transfer into a geology program at a four-year college or university.
