Santiago Canyon College Foundation Names New Board of Directors Member

Orange - The Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Foundation recently appointed Kevin P. Hunt, P.E., to its board of directors. The foundation is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support the college and its students through the leadership of a 10-member board of directors.

Hunt, a Fountain Valley resident, is currently the general manager of the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC). The MWDOC is a public planning and resource management agency that provides imported water to more than two million Orange County residents through 30 member agencies, including cities, retail water districts, two private water companies and one service district.

Earlier in his 40-year career in the water utility industry, Hunt served as a consulting district engineer for the MWDOC. He also was a project manager for the development of the Allen-McColloch Pipeline, which serves as Orange County’s primary imported water pipeline. Prior to joining the MWDOC, Hunt was group leader for water and natural resources for Psomas, a land development, water, transportation, and information technology company.

He earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, New York, and is a California-registered civil engineer. He is also a founder of the Urban Water Institute.

The purpose of the SCC Foundation is to sponsor various gift-giving opportunities, increase public awareness, and participate in campaigns needed to provide for the scholarships, programs, and capital needs of the college.
