ESL Assessment Procedures

Individuals interested in taking classes in the ESL program must first take a placement assessment before enrolling into a class. The assessment is given to help determine which class level would be best for the learner. The assessment takes approximately two hours. After the second week placement assessments are offered at the Orange Education Center as  follows (except holidays):


Assessment days for the SPRING 2012 semester

  • Tuesday or Thursday at 1:00 pm
  • Friday at 8:00 am
  • Saturday at 8:00 am
     

To schedule an appointment for assessment, please call (714) 628-5900. Individuals do not need to bring anything with them to the assessment. Please note; there are no children permitted in the testing room or left unattended within the school grounds.

High school program Assessment Procedures Students must first take a placement assessment to register for High School, Adult Basic Education and Reading classes. The test takes approximately three hours and is given on Mondays and Wednesdays. The exam process starts at 1:30 pm, however, we ask that you arrive by 1:00 pm. Individuals should bring unofficial school transcripts on the assessment date, if available. Once a student has taken the assessment, he or she will be asked to schedule an appointment with a counselor to review the assessment results and
enroll in classes. For an assessment appointment, call (714) 628-5900. 

Please note; there are no children permitted in the testing room or left unattended within the school grounds.
