Library Courses  Library and Information Studies 100 - Library Research Fundamentals


This one-unit course is transferable to CSU/UC. The course is designed to  teach students basic college-level research skills. Instruction includes print and non-print information sources such as reference books, scholarly material, online subscription databases and the Internet. Students will visit a library to complete hands-on exercises.

Library and Information Studies 103 - Advanced Internet Research


This one-unit course is transferable to CSU. This course focuses on library research strategies for effectively locating and evaluating information on the Internet. Core topics are designing and performing successful search strategies, evaluating online information using critical thinking skills, identifying the ethical and legal aspects of using online sources, and citing  sources using a standard documentation style

Library Workshops

Workshop Schedule (Spring 2015)



One-hour library instructional sessions are offered Monday through Thursday. To schedule a class for Bibliographic Instruction (BI) at the  Library, submit an online request by clicking on this link:  Library Instruction Request​ . Please submit request a minimum of one week prior to date of class. The earliest time that a BI session can be scheduled is 8:00 am; the latest time that a session can be scheduled is 4:30 pm.
