Critical Problems in the K-12 Educational System

California faces two critical problems in the K-12 educational system:

A teacher shortage that will require the hiring of thousands of new teachers each year for the next several years
-
Low K-6 reading and math scores in schools throughout California.
SCC designed the Learning Highways Tutoring Program (LHTP) to provide Fletcher, Olive, and Riverdale students with academic support and to provide parents with the tools they need to promote academic skill development in their homes.
