Welcome to the SCC Orange Education Child Development Center website. This webpage has been developed to help you get to know us better and to see some of what we offer to the children and families enrolled. Our center recognizes the importance of relationships between teachers, families, and children as a way to nurture and support each child enrolled. We encourage family involvement in our center and believe that children’s success in learning depends on the partnerships formed between the school and the family.
Our center is licensed by the State Department of Social Services/Community Care Licensing and meets the Desired Results Standards of the California Department of Education Child Development Division. We are proud to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and recognized as one of Orange County’s Five Star Quality centers. We also serve as a laboratory site for college students as they prepare to work with young children.
We follow a developmental approach to learning and plan activities for our children that promote their physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth. Our inside and outside environments are prepared in ways that invite each child to actively interact with people and materials. We believe that through this interaction each child develops their independence, decision-making, social skills and self-esteem.
