EOP&S at Santiago Canyon College
Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) is a state funded program, which provides special support services to students who are educationally and economically disadvantaged. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide the opportunity and support necessary for each student to undertake and complete an education at Santiago Canyon College.
EOP&S was established in 1969 by the State Legislature. It is designed to provide low-income and educationally disadvantaged community college students with support services that will help them enroll and succeed in post-secondary education. Today, EOP&S programs operate in each of California’s community colleges. EOP&S offers academic and support counseling along with financial assistance through formally structured program components (1999, EOP&S Program Review). |
