(Internal Procedure)

When we import the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) we built in rules that check both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Admissions & Records (A&R) system or noted that a student certified that they have either a High School (HS) Diploma or GED, HS Proficiency, ATB test data prior to 7/1/12, and ATB 6+ college units prior to 7/12/12.

·         If a student does not show they have a HS Diploma, GED, or a grandfathered ATB record prior to July 1, 2012 on A&R, we send them a form entitled “HS Diploma Discrepancy.” Depending on how they respond to the form they may or may not be eligible for aid.

·         If a student is selected for verification as “V5” by the Department of Education, we send the student a form entitled “High School Verification.” Depending on how they respond to the form they may or may not be eligible for aid.

·         If any students answer “4-None of the Above” to question #26 on FAFSA that states “When you begin college in the 2013-2014 school year, what will be your high school competition status?,” Financial aid verifies the HS Graduation Status as it appears on A&R if it shows they have a acceptable notation on A&R system it gets updated on Financial aid management system FAMS).   The acceptable statuses when updating (FAMS) are HS Diploma (which includes Foreign Diploma), GED, HS Proficiency, ATB test data prior to 7/1/12, and ATB 6+ college units prior to 7/12/12.  If this is not updated, the Pell/ Student Loan will reject.  All rejects are fixed and the disbursement record is resent.
