Consequences for Committing Acts of Sexual Violence

Consequences for Committing Acts of Sexual Violence

Due to the seriousness of sexual assault, Santiago Canyon College maintains a zero tolerance policy when dealing with such matters. Consequently, all such allegations will be investigated to the maximum extent to apply proper disciplinary, criminal or legal action, so that applicable sanctions can be rendered by either the College, the District and/or the State in accordance with the legal system.

The College will give both the accuser and the accused their rights to have others present during the on campus disciplinary proceedings. These proceedings are applicable to individual students, student organizations and College faculty or staff involved in any allegations of sexual violence.

As outlined in RSCCD Board Policy 5201, college sanctions following campus disciplinary procedures rely upon the outcome, and can range from suspension to expulsion.  The College will report acts of sexual violence to local law enforcement agencies for criminal investigation and prosecution.
