TurnItIn is Recommended by TAG

On Thursday, October 6, 2011, the District Technology Advisory Group (TAG) recommended that the district enter into a site license agreement for Turnitin.  The plan is, first, to have the agreement approved by the board and, second, to have full implementation and Blackboard integration for both SAC and SCC by January 1, 2012.

Mike Taylor and Darlene Diaz are working on a new project called the Kaleidoscope Project. It is implementing open education resources (OER) for existing courses at Santiago Canyon College and Santa Ana College.

Mobile Library Web Site and Catalog Now Available

 

Students can now browse the library catalog, place holds, renew items, see what they have checked out, and search the library Web site on their cell phones!

Text a Librarian. . . Open & Mobile-Ready!

 

Debuting this fall, “Text a Librarian” enables the Library to offer mobile text message reference services. Students can text questions from their mobile devices, e.g., smartphones, iPads, etc., to the Information Desk and the Librarians type answers on a web-based interface.
