SCC students can now chat with librarians by texting a support number with their text-enabled phone. The Library’s live chat service, “Ask a Librarian,”
now supports an SMS chat add-on by which mobile library users can enjoy all of the benefits of live chat without being tied to a website. The implementation of this add-on completes a comprehensive and powerful instant mobile chat toolkit for the Library’s virtual reference services. More significantly, it lets our library users choose their preferred communication channel and ensures that we can handle them all as the Library can answer from its enhanced chat client.
