SCC Astronomy

Astronomy explores various topics including the history and development of Astronomy, our solar system and the planets within it, our Sun, stars, the Milky Way, Galaxies, and Cosmology. There are new discoveries made everyday. Students will have an opportunity to explore some these discoveries in their classes.

The courses offered are Astronomy 102: Stars and Galaxies, Astronomy 103: The Solar System, and Astronomy 101L: Astronomy Lab. All courses satisfy general education requirements, and the Astronomy Lab course satisfies the physical science lab requirement.

Astronomy 102, 103, and 101L will give students a good foundation from which they can pursue their own career in Astronomy.
