MISSION
At Santiago Canyon College, the Modern Language's mission is to offer quality language experiences to expand awareness and understanding of cultural diversity and other worldviews through languages learning. In addition to providing timely university transfer courses, the department offers an Associate in Arts in Modern Languages, an Associate in Arts in Spanish for Transfer, an American Sign Language Certificate of Achievement as well as community services learning activities.
PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES - SLOs
Upon successful completion of the major requirements for this degree, students will be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of the cultural perspectives and mores of the French speakers in Western Europe.
Demonstrate understanding of the French language through the synthesis, analysis and evaluation of the target language to derive meaning of implicit and explicit written material and spoken messages in authentic cultural context
