The Associate in Science in Physics for Transfer degree provides
a foundation in physics and mathematics for students planning to
transfer into a baccalaureate program in physics or physics education.
Successful completion of the transfer degree in Physics guarantees the
student acceptance to the California State University system to pursue a
baccalaureate degree in Physics or a related field.
It
is highly recommended for students to meet with an SCC counselor to
discuss other possible courses that are part of major preparation at a
local CSU campus. Students are encouraged to take some additional
courses, that may be articulated major preparation, prior to transfer
such as MATH 287, MATH 290, CHEM 200A, and CMPR 120. While these
additional courses are not required for this degree, completion of these
courses will better prepare students for upper-division Physics courses
at a CSU.
