         A non-partisan quick guide to Primary and General election. Guides for the June Primary Election and             the November General Election are published approximately 1-1 1/2 months before each respective                 election. Archives of past guides are available at this site. 

           Nonpartisan, objective information on state-wide candidates and ballot measures that will enable            more Californians to participate in the public conversation about them.

       "The FPPC collects thousands of forms and reports that contain important information about        public officials. The transparency portal is designed to promote the accessibility of this vital        data" and includes tools such as 'Top Contributor Lists' and 'Behested Payments.'

          California Secretary of State web site provides elections and voter information on state propositions, --           titles and summaries, impartial analyses of the ballot measures, potential costs to taxpayers,                           arguments in favor of and against ballot measures; also candidate statements, and information on           campaign finance & lobbying.

         Register to vote OR verify your voter registration. During an election find your polling place, look-up a           sample ballot, request a vote-by-mail ballot and more such as maps and other election data. 

          PolitiFact California engages in fact-checking journalism by examining and researching statements           by California elected officials, candidates and others who speak on matters of public importance and              then rates them for accuracy.     

          Voter's Edge California

       Voter’s Edge California is a comprehensive, nonpartisan online guide to elections covering           federal, state, and local races in the state of California. "It provides top-to-bottom ballot and        campaign finance information in one easy-to-use site, giving voters instant access to                   political information…."  It a joint project of the League of Women Voters and MapLight.


NATIONAL

          Ballotpedia is the online encyclopedia of American politics and elections whose goal is to inform                    people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of                  government while being firmly committed to neutrality. Its Public Policy Project looks at major policy           issues being discussed and implemented throughout the United States on a state by state basis.

         "A nonpartisan, nonprofit 'consumer advocate' for voters, Factcheck monitors the factual accuracy of           what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and           news releases."

       OpenSecrets.org is the nation's premier website tracking the influence of money on U.S.               politics, and how that money affects policy and citizens' lives. It is produced and published        by the Center for Responsive Politics.

          PolitiFact​​ is an independent fact-checking journalism website that examines and researches statements           by elected officials, candidates, politicians, advocacy groups and others who speak on matters of                    public importance and then rates them for accuracy.     

         Includes candidate biographies, voting records, issue positions, interest group ratings, public                     statements, and campaign financing information.
