(Orange, CA) - It's tee time at Santiago Canyon College (SCC), as the SCC Foundation will hold its annual Hawks Golf Tournament at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Friday, April 20.
Now in its 18th year, the Hawks Golf Tournament will raise funds to support students at SCC and the Orange Education Center. Proceeds will benefit SCC’s Hawk’s Nest Food Pantry, Student Emergency Fund, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, and Model United Nations, among other programs.
"The event promises to be a day of fun with friends - old and new - and an opportunity to support the foundation's goal of providing more resources to Santiago Canyon College, so that SCC can better serve its diverse student population and the surrounding community," said SCC President John Hernandez, Ph.D. "Fifty percent of net proceeds from the tournament will go to an array of underfunded academic and student enrichment programs on campus and 50 percent to the SCC Foundation’s Annual Fund."
City of Orange Fire Chief Jack Thomas will serve as the tournament’s honorary chair.
Registration and the driving range open at 9 a.m., with a putting competition to follow at 9:30 a.m. Shotgun play and the four-person scramble will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Throughout the tournament, on-course contests, run by 19th Hole Golf Productions, will take place and include a men's and women's closest to the pin competition, men's and women's longest drive contest and marshmallow drive.
Once play concludes at 4 p.m., the bar and silent auction will open followed by a barbecue dinner, opportunity drawing and awards ceremony at 5 p.m. Awards will be given in men's, women's and co-ed team categories.
Registration is $250 per golfer. Foursomes are encouraged to register early, as the registration fee increases from $900 to $1,000 on April 1. Registration fees include 18 holes of golf, use of a golf cart throughout the tournament, on-cart lunch, access to the club’s driving range, on-course beverages, a gift bag and dinner. Non-golfers can purchase dinner-only tickets for $50.
Sponsorships are also still available with opportunities ranging from $250 to $7,500. Visit
