(Santa Ana, CA) - Rancho Santiago Community College District announces the appointment of Arleen Satele, Ed.D., as vice president of administrative services at Santiago Canyon College (SCC) in Orange. In this influential role, Satele serves as the college’s business manager. Her overall responsibilities include budget development and control, maintenance of facilities and grounds, transportation, and the preparation and maintenance of required records and reports.
With over 13 years experience as a chief financial officer and vice president of administrative services for community colleges, Satele brings extensive knowledge in finance, budgeting, procurement and asset management, contract management, federal and state regulations to SCC. Previously, she served for 10 years as vice president of administrative services at Cuyamaca College in San Diego where she oversaw a $55 million budget and provided cost reduction strategies. She also managed a $170 million capital construction program from master planning to construction and maintenance of new buildings.
Prior to that, she served as administrative supervisor with the Department of Social Services in Riverside. In that position, she oversaw the Logistics Division, including facilities management, project managers, technicians, help desks and vehicle control. Earlier, she was the chief financial officer for American Samoa Community College in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
Satele earned a B.A. in business administration and a certificate in computer programming from California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). She also obtained an M.A. in public administration from CSUSB and earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara.
