Santiago Canyon College Art Gallery Begins 2018 with Solo Show by Alumna Kay Dudacek

1/18/2018

(Orange, CA) - Former Santiago Canyon College (SCC) art student Kay Dudacek takes viewers on "An Artist’s Journey" in her new solo show at the SCC Art Gallery from February 6 through March 8.

"It seems like I’ve been a student forever," said Dudacek. "There is one thing about becoming an artist; you never stop learning your craft. I am inspired by the beauty of the outdoors. Many of my paintings are from locations that I have traveled to while on bicycling tours."

Working in oil paints, Dudacek, a full-time artist who paints from her Orange County studio, creates expressive images focused on a rage of themes - everything from cultural icons to the bond shared by United States Marines and their companion animals.

"As a retired veterinary technician my other passion is animals; their eyes tell a story,” Dudacek said. “My style is leaning towards impressionistic. I prefer to use as few strokes as possible to capture the spontaneity and natural beauty of the landscapes around me."
