Steven Salcido Named Assistant Dean of Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Veterans


​(Santa Ana, CA) - Rancho Santiago Community College District has selected Steven Salcido as assistant dean of financial aid, scholarships, and veterans at Santiago Canyon College. In that role, he is responsible for the development, procurement, administration and planning of all student financial aid, scholarships, and Veterans Services activities. He must also be knowledgeable and remain up-to-date about all federal and state regulations relating to financial aid and must ensure the accurate disbursement of funds according to relevant policies, procedures, codes, regulations and laws.

steven salcidoWith more than seven years of experience in community colleges, Salcido, a Long Beach resident, brings experience in financial aid administration, student loan counseling and processing, cohesive teambuilding, and database maintenance. Previously, he served as associate director of financial aid and scholarships for California State University, Sacramento. In that role, he assisted with the opening of the CSU Sacramento One Stop Department and collaborated on the enrollment management team ensuring that the university met its enrollment objectives. Prior to that, he served as associate director of financial aid systems for California State University, Long Beach. Earlier, he was a financial aid computer analyst specialist at Santiago Canyon College.

He earned a Master of Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in administration management from California State Polytechnic, Pomona. He also obtained a B.S. in business administration from California State Polytechnic, Pomona. In addition, he earned a certificate of completion in British and Western European Business Cultural Studies from Imperial College, London, England.
