Cheick Camara 22, is from Harlem, NYand Ermias Tadesse 22, is from Alexandria, VA. They are the co-founders of BlackGen Capital. In February of 2021, CNBC published an article Feb. 1 celebrating 23 Black leaders shaping history and inspiring future generations and Cheick Camara and Ermias Tadesse earned a spot on the exclusive list for their work founding BlackGen Capital. BlackGen Capital is the first minority-owned investment fund to be founded on Cornell’s campus. They created BlackGen Capital as a means to expand access to financial literacy education, resources that can empower students to get internships and learn about investing and budgeting.
