Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Gail Winfrey was born in the rural town of Kosciusko, Mississippi, on January 29, 1954. In 1986, Oprah Winfrey became the first Black female host of a nationally syndicated daily talk show with the premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show. In 2002, Oprah Winfrey was named the first recipient of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. Oprah Winfrey became the first Black female billionaire in the United States in 2003.

Dubbed the "Queen of All Media”, she was the richest African-American of the 20th century was once the world's only black billionaire and the greatest black philanthropist in U.S. history. By 2007, she was sometimes ranked as the most influential woman in the world.
