Description:
By popular demand comes this unique opportunity to visit the famed Griffith Observatory at night! One of L.A.’s most recognizable landmarks, it is Southern California’s gateway to the cosmos! Built in 1935, it’s been a popular movie location since 1955’s Rebel Without a Cause, and its recently restored Art Deco building features spectacular exhibits and unbeatable hilltop views. Enjoy approximately three hours at leisure to explore the many magnificent astronomical exhibits, look through telescopes, visit the gift shop and marvel at the spectacular views of Los Angeles at night! The free film, "The Once and Future Griffith Observatory” is narrated by Leonard Nimoy and focuses on the Observatory’s history and recent renovation. Planetarium shows are available on a first-come-first-served basis for an additional fee ($5 seniors/$7 adults) upon arrival at the Observatory. Prior to the Observatory, we’ll enjoy time at leisure for an early dinner (approximately 3:30 p.m.) at the cafeteria-style, Maddalena’s Restaurant and wine tasting on your own at the famed San Antonio Winery – a true gem tucked away in a nondescript industrial area of Los Angeles. Delicious Italian food has been served in a festive atmosphere here for over 100 years!
