

Would you like to work at SCC as a student employee?
The On-Campus Job Placement Office helps students earn money to pay for educational expenses by working part time (up to 20 hours per week) while learning transferable job skills. Benefits include:
- Flexible work schedule that works around classes
- Sick Leave (1 hour sick leave is accrued per 30 hours worked)

- Earn money while gaining work experience
Students who are interested in working at SCC may be eligible for one of the student employment programs, which include Federal Work Study (FWS) and Department-Funded/Special Projects.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
The U.S. Department of Education awards the school a certain amount of funding each year to allow students to supplement their education costs. Students eligible for FWS will be awarded a minimum of *$3,500 per academic year (*award amount is not guaranteed). To be eligible for FWS, students are required to:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which can be completed online at fafsa.gov. School code for Financial Aid: 036957
- Choose “SCC” as their home campus
- Work with the Financial Aid Office to have a complete file, and receive an Award Letter
- Maintain at least 6 units (Fall and Spring)
- Maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 CGPA
- Have a valid Social Security card and picture ID
Department-Funded / Special Projects
Earnings for department positions are paid from a department’s budget and do not require the completion of the FAFSA. To be eligible to work for District funded positions, students are required to:
- Enroll in at least 6 units (fall and spring)
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 CGPA
- Have a valid Social Security card and picture ID
- Choose “SCC” as your home campus
- Must obtain an Offer of Employment from the department that would like to hire you
If you are interested in working on campus, complete the Student Employee Interest Form. Students are limited to 4 years or 8 semesters of employment at SCC. STUDENT EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS ARE NOT GUARANTEED
