ESL classes provide English language instruction for students at all levels of English proficiency. This program includes core ESL classes from beginning levels through intermediate levels, and specialty class options are also available. Individuals interested in taking classes in ESL take a placement assessment before enrolling into a class. The assessment is given to help determine which class level would be best for the learner. Students will also complete an orientation and educational plan. This takes approximately 2½ hours.
Placement assessment is offered as follows (except holidays): Spring Semester Assessment Schedule: Tuesday 5:30 pm CHAP Wednesday 1:30 pm CHAP Saturday 8:30 am CHAP

ESL Civics/Citizenship (ESL-120)
Introduces students to U.S. citizenship and the naturalization process, U.S. history, government, and prepares students for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services USCIS interview and exam.
