Art

The Santiago Canyon College Art Department is committed to creating a student-centered learning environment that encourages the development of students’ artistic vision, knowledge of historical and contemporary art developments, and technical skills in all disciplines of the visual arts. The Department prepares students for further study and/or employment in the visual arts and related fields.

We pride ourselves in teaching traditional aesthetics with a contemporary approach. Students will learn a range of techniques from line work to rendering, from traditional painting to digital design. The art department also emphasizes conceptual analysis as a way for students to find their own artistic voice.

Student artwork is showcased at the annual “Student Art Show” in the spring, in our SCC Art Gallery, and throughout campus.
