​​CalFresh is a great resource that provides money to buy foodat a grocery store.  If approved, individuals can receive up to $192 a month to buy groceries.  Larger households may be eligible for more money.  Since we cannot assist with applications in person, folks may dial 211 or ​​(888) 600-4357 for assistance over the phone.  Applications are reviewed and approved by the county. 

What is CalFresh?

CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program that can award you up to $192 a month to but groceries.

  • Students can get CalFresh is they meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
  • Working 20 hours/week or more
  • Work Study recipient (don't need to currently have a work study job)
  • Cal Grant A?B
  • Caring for a child 12 years old or younger
  • EOPS participant
  • TRiO scholar
  • Disability Services Program
  • Guardian Scholar (or any Foster Youth Success Initiative)
  • Will not be enrolled in school next semester
