Counseling & Academic Support
One-on-One Counseling | Individualized guidance to explore academic pathways, career goals, and personal development.
Priority Registration | Foster youth qualify for priority enrollment, which allows for early class registration before general registration opens.
New Student Orientation | An introduction to program services, expectations, and campus resources for newly enrolled students.
Monthly Check-Ins | Regular meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
Tutoring | Connecting students to free tutoring or referring to on-campus support such as: Supplemental Instruction (SI), the Writing Center, the Math Success Center, and STAR Center.
Financial Support
Understanding Financial Aid Programs | Guidance on key aid opportunities including the Pell Grant, Cal Grant, and Chafee Grant for Foster Youth.
FAFSA/CADAA Assistance | Support completing financial aid applications and submitting required documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
NextUp Program-Specific Grants | Access to supplemental grants designed to meet additional academic or personal needs.
Community, Workshops & Events
Financial Literacy Workshops | Sessions focused on budgeting, money management, and financial planning.
Health & Wellness Workshops | Semester workshops with themes around
Social Gatherings & Community Events | Opportunities to build connections with peers, program staff, and campus partners.
Basic Needs & Wellness Referrals | Whether a student is facing housing instability, financial emergencies, or personal crises, program staff help coordinate immediate support and connect them to appropriate services either through off-campus or on-campus resources.

Access to School Supplies | Essential academic materials such as notebooks, pens, calculators, and more.
