ASG Membership

The term of office for all ASG officer positions (appointed and otherwise) runs from the time of appointment until the Monday immediately following the current academic year's Commencement Ceremony.

Per California Educational Code Section 76061, all ASG officers are expected to maintain the following minimum academic standards to participate in ASG:

  • Be currently enrolled in at least 5 units at SCC and have at least a 2.0 GPA, OR
  • Be enrolled in a RSCCD Adult Education program, OR
  • Be a currently enrolled SCC student with a verified disability on record with the DSPS office.

 

All ASG officers are expected to maintain at least one of these eligibility standards throughout their term of office - additionally, ASG officers must abide by the RSCCD Student Code of Conduct and fulfill the responsibilities associated with their office as specified in the ASGSCC Bylaws. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to or including removal from office.

Want to submit an item for consideration? 

Non-ASG officers wishing to present items for official action by the ASG can submit a formal request using the link below. After submitting your request, you will be informed of the date and time of the meeting at which it will be presented. For announcements or other requests that do not require action, you are welcome to visit any official ASG meeting to provide a public comment.

ASGSCC Cabinet meetings are held every Friday from 1:15-3:15pm in SCC A-104. Members of the public are welcome!

 

Mission Statement

To promote and engage in student representation and involvement by safeguarding collegial governance and representative democracy, to influence institutional policy affecting student affairs, to facilitate campus-wide activities for the improvement of student life, and to provide a platform for the fundamental development of a cohesive and accountable group of student leaders at Santiago Canyon College.
