President's Message

As many of you are aware, the district, SAC and SCC are simultaneously engaging in developing a District Strategic Plan and ComprehensiveEducational Plans for each college. The timeline for this is very intensive but I want to ensure that we have broad participation throughout the SCC community. To that end, I have established a tri-chair CEP Taskforce with Dr. Jason Parks, Professor Craig Rutan, and Ms. Sheryl Martin serving in that capacity. Taskforce members are currently being identified and will include all members of SCC's Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Committee who would like to participate along with classified professionals Ms. Diana Casares and Ms. Sheryl Martin, and student leaders including ASG President Gabe Lopez and three others he will identify from ASG leadership.

The district has contracted with the Collaborative Brain Trust (CBT) to support us in the development of our CEP. There are two consultants, Dr. Cindy Griffith and Ms. Donna Boatwright, who have been assigned to SCC and will be working with us exclusively on our CEP.

Lastly, the attached update provides an overview of what has been accomplished to date and our next steps. The tri-chairs and I will be providing regular bi-weekly updates so that our entire SCC community stays informed and is able to participate as you are able. There will be multiple opportunities so please participate! The CEP website is located here sccollege.edu/CEP and will house all of the public-facing documents for the campus and broader community.
