How to Apply
Admissions Requirements
- Personal Statement
- Copy of valid passport
- A photocopy of your passport to confirm your identity and citizenship.
- Proof of Financial Ability
- Documentation demonstrating that you have enough money to cover the tuition and living costs while studying in the U.S.
- This includes our Proof of Financial Support Form and other supplemental financial documents like a bank letter, bank statement, scholarship, or award letter that shows a minimum balance of $25,515.
- Proof of English Proficiency
- Demonstrating that you have sufficient knowledge of the English language to study at our campus. Please see our Minimum English Proficiency Requirements for details.
- Academic Transcripts
- Submit official transcripts from all previous educational institutions attended, including high school transcripts with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (C average).
- Pay the $65 Application Fee (non-refundable)
- After submitting the online application, pay the $65 application fee. Click here for instructions on how to make a payment.
- Our office is notified once your application fee has been processed. The office will review your application documents after the payment is received.
- Other documents: Depending on the circumstances (e.g. Change of Status, F-2 Dependents, F-1 Reinstatement, etc), additional documents may be requested.
Note: Applicants under 18 years of age must show proof of high school completion for application consideration. Must be at least 16 years of age by the first day of class.
The Application Process:
Step 1: Apply Online

Create an OpenCCC Account. Before submitting the SCC International Application, applicant must first have an OpenCCC Account. Click on “Create an Account” to create one. Important: write down the CCCID number and Password for future reference.

Submit SCC Online International Application via CCCApply. After applicant had created an OpenCCC Account (or signed-in), please click “Continue” and follow the prompts on the page to submit the SCC International Application.
You will receive a confirmation email after your application has been submitted successfully. We will send you a follow-up email with instructions for the next steps withing 1-2 business days.
Step 2: Submit Required Documents
- You will receive a unique email link to upload the documents required to complete your application. We use the FileInvite service to collect your documents securely.
- The Application Documents will be requested depending on your SCC admission status (e.g., initial, transfer, or part-time).
- Please allow us between 2-3 days to review your submissions. Once all is completed and accepted, students will receive their admission offer via email.
Please read the following and determine your student type to find out the documents required for your application:
- Initial | An initial student, is a new student applying from outside the United States or an applicant in the U.S. who seeks to change their current status to F-1. An initial student may have already begun studying in the United States but has taken a break from their studies and will need a new Form I-20: Certificate of Eligibility.
- Transfer-in | You are currently enrolled at another school in the U.S. with an active
I-20 and would like to transfer to Santiago Canyon College.
- Note: Please contact our office if you have been terminated from your previous institution and require a reinstatement application to regain your F-1 status.
- Part-Time (Concurrent) | You want to take one or two classes (1-6 units) at Santiago Canyon College while attending another school in the U.S.
- Change of Status | You may wish to change your nonimmigrant status if you are already in the United States on a valid nonimmigrant visa for a purpose other than attending school and want to study at a U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school. You are not eligible for a change of status in the United States if you entered as a visitor through the visa waiver program.

Step 3: Receive Your Admission Offer
- Once we receive and approve all required documents, student will receive your admission acceptance letter and Form 1-20 via email within 2-3 business days.
- Important: Official college communication will be sent directly to the student’s personal email address stated on the application.
