TECHNOLOGY SUBCOMMITTEE

Mission  

The mission of the subcommittee of the Institutional Effectiveness Committee is to promote the effective use of technology in the college's operations. Our focus is on making recommendations that increase efficiency, ensure student privacy, promote ADA Access, and promote student equity. We aim to provide recommendations for technology purchases that align with these goals, and to continually assess and improve the college's technological operations to support student success. 

Responsibilities  

  •  Formally report to the Institutional Effectiveness Committee and provide a monthly summary report to the Academic Senate. 
  •  Maintain a technology plan that aligns with state recommendations.  
  •  Assess the technological needs and competencies of faculty, staff, and students.  
  • Make recommendations for staff and faculty technology-related professional development.  
  •  Make recommendations concerning acquisition, implementation, maintenance,  and upgrading of technologies within a secure and robust infrastructure.  
  • Identify and promote resource procurement to advance technology and its use by students, faculty, and staff.  
  • Recommend allocation of technology resources in accordance with the Educational Master Plan and the Technology Plan.  
  •  Review and evaluate student equity data and make recommendations for technology acquisitions or initiatives that can help reduce student equity barriers.  
  • Evaluate college FERPA and ADA Access policies and procedures to help ensure ethical and legal compliance.  
  • Communicate with the college community by publishing a biannual newsletter.

  • One faculty member and one administrator will serve as co-chairs.  
  • 7 Faculty  
  • 2 Administrators  
  • 3 Classified (appointed by CSEA)  
  • 1 ITS Representative (non-voting member)  
  • 1 Student
