Career Services at Santiago Canyon College is here to help students with the career
exploration and development processes. We assist with career exploration and
assistance in choosing a career path, as well as linking college majors and training
programs that meet individual student needs. Also, we offer job preparation services
including job & internship search skills, resume and cover letter writing, along with
networking and interviewing techniques. Our goal is for students to be career-ready
before they’re in the job market looking for a job.
Students are assisted in the career exploration process and job preparation through
workshops and individual appointments. We encourage students to use Career
Services on a regular basis!
Department Vision: Career Services offers programs in an environment considerate
of students’ abilities, personalities, needs, values, and cultural backgrounds. Through
collaboration with both the SCC campus community and industry partners, our goal
is to connect students to the world of work while expanding students’ self-awareness
and engagement in the career development process.
Department Mission: The Career Services staff educates and empowers students
through the career development process. This is done through one-to-one support,
workshops, classroom presentations, events, and resources. Career Services collaborates
with the campus community, including discipline faculty and campus programs, and
builds connections with local industry partners. Through these services and collaborative
efforts, Career Services fosters the opportunity for students to engage in self-reflection
and find majors/careers that match their unique identities and lifestyle goals.
