- If you have external transcripts from another college/university that need to be evaluated as part of your course planning, please call the Counseling office at (714) 628-4800.
If you are unable to attend an in-person appointment with acounselor, our online counseling
services will give you the opportunity to have all of your counseling needs met in
an online format.
SCC Counseling is currently utilizing Zoom for all online counseling appointments
by video. Zoom Counseling appointments online will allow you to video-chat, audio-chat,
share your screen, and download/share documents during your online counseling session.
The SCC Counseling Department offers a wide variety of career exploration and education
planning services online, by appointment. Please call (714) 628-4800 to request an
online appointment. Online appointments are scheduled for 1-hour and conducted via
Zoom. Appointments are booked up to two weeks in advance.
The following services are currently being addressed online by Appointment:
- Comprehensive Student Education Planning (CSEPs)
- Student Education Plan Revisions/Updates
- Financial Aid Appeals requiring a new or revised/updated CSEP
- CSEPs for SCC Athletes, SCC Promise Scholarship recipients and Veteran Students seeking certification of benefits and/or priority registration
- Review of transcripts/coursework from other colleges and universities
- Pass Along Petitions - for students with previous coursework from a CSU/UC/Private/Out-of-state college or university
- In-depth career exploration and development for undecided majors
- Other
Online Zoom Drop-In services include:
- Abbreviated Student Education Planning (planning classes for the next term)
- Interpretation of placement recommendations in English, math, and reading
- Prerequisite Clearance(s) for classes at SCC
- Graduation Petitions (if all courses were taken at SCC/SAC)
- Overload Petitions
- Petition to Substitute a Major Requirement
- Pass/No Pass questions
- Withdrawal/COVID-19 Excused Withdrawal questions
- Questions about Class Planning / "I need to select one more class"
- General Questions/Other

Self-Service, also known as your Online Education Planner tool, is your destination to accomplish several critical steps toward success at SCC. In your Online Education Plan, you can:
- Develop a semester-by-semester plan of classes needed to reach your education goal
- Register for classes
- Check your progress toward completing your education goal(s)
- Are you still exploring your major/career goals?
- Do you need help deciding on a major or career?
- Would you like to take a career assessment to get more information on your personality or interests?
- Do you need to prepare for a job/internship search?
